2017 Grants Distributed

The Robeson County Arts Council will accept applications for North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program subgrants through June 30, 2017. Since 1977, the North Carolina Arts Council’s Grassroots Arts Program has provided North Carolina citizens access to quality arts experiences. Using a per capita based formula, the program provides funding for the arts in all 100 counties of the state through partnerships with local arts councils. The Robeson County Arts Council serves as the North Carolina Arts Council’s partner in awarding subgrants to local organizations for arts programs in Robeson County.

Applications are available for non-profit organizations whose purpose is to promote and develop diverse cultural arts programming in Robeson County. Funding priority is given to qualified arts organizations (theaters, galleries, choral societies, festivals), arts in education programs conducted by qualified arts organizations, and other community organizations that provide arts programs in the county. Grassroots funds are not generally awarded to arts organizations that receive funding through the North Carolina Arts Council’s State Arts Resources. Projects must occur between July 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018..

Application forms and grant guidelines are available on the North Carolina Arts Council website www.ncarts.org.

The Robeson County Arts Council is hosting two Grassroots Arts Program Grant Workshops to assist interested applicants in preparing competitive grants. The same information will be presented at both workshops so you may choose either date: Friday, May 19th at 10:00 or Tuesday evening, May 30th at 7:00 at 700 ROBERTS AVE, STE 102A, LUMBERTON. The meetings will begin promptly on the hour and should last no longer than one hour. SOMEONE FROM YOUR ORGANIZATION MUST ATTEND ONE OF THE TWO MEETINGS TO LEARN ABOUT CHANGES IN THE APPLICATION PROCESS THIS YEAR EVEN IF YOU HAVE BEEN A PAST RECIPIENT OF THE GRANTS.
